Task 6.1 \u2013 Decentralised Virtualized Data Layer <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Design and develop a trust-driven decentralized data layer<\/strong> for an open network of autonomous data providers, forming a key part of the Smart Data Management (SDM)<\/strong> system based on Onedata<\/strong>. This layer manages diverse distributed datasets efficiently, enabling processing without replication and providing unified, secure access<\/strong>.
It enhances fault tolerance, scalability, and security<\/strong>, while maintaining decentralization to reduce latency and eliminate bottlenecks. SDM connects to SPICE via the Cognitive Mapper (T5.3)<\/strong> for secure, scalable data handling.<\/p>\n

\n

Task 6.2 \u2013 Decentralised Data Governance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Develop a federated data governance framework<\/strong> supporting local decision-making and lifecycle management, leveraging European e-infrastructure storage services and IoT\/Fog integration.
This system will ensure privacy, security, and compliance<\/strong> while managing diverse datasets. The XaaS marketplace (T7.4)<\/strong>, supported by the Unified Knowledge Layer (T4.1, T4.2)<\/strong>, will enable decentralized collaboration and access across organizations.
A data anonymization service<\/strong> will balance privacy and information retention for big data processing.<\/p>\n

\n

Task 6.3 \u2013 Large Language Models for Data Discovery <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Leverage large language models (LLMs)<\/strong> integrated with the SDM<\/strong> a UKL (WP4)<\/strong> to automate data discovery, categorization, and semantic search<\/strong>.
LLMs will extract insights from large, raw datasets, revealing hidden patterns and improving contextual understanding<\/strong>. The goal is to make data exploration intuitive<\/strong>, empowering users\u2014regardless of expertise\u2014to derive actionable insights efficiently.<\/p>\n

\n

Task 6.4 \u2013 Smart Data Movements<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Optimize data movement<\/strong> across distributed environments using AI, ML, and predictive analytics<\/strong> (in collaboration with T4.1, T4.2).
The system will anticipate data needs, preemptively relocate data<\/strong>, and select optimal transfer routes<\/strong> based on system load, cost, integrity, and privacy. This ensures efficient, timely, and cost-effective<\/strong> data availability without redundancy or delay.<\/p>\n

Task 6.5 \u2013 EOSC Integration<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Integrate SPICE with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)<\/strong> through collaboration with EOSC stakeholders and alignment with EOSC Core and EOSC Exchange<\/strong>.
Focus on data standardization, metadata consistency<\/strong>, and best practices<\/strong> for cross-border collaboration.
Using Onedata<\/strong> as a gateway, the task aims to build a unified distributed data management layer<\/strong> compatible with EOSC, simplifying access for researchers and fostering interoperability across Europe.<\/p>\n

\n

Task 6.6 \u2013 Market-oriented EU Common Data Spaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Integrate SPICE with European common data spaces<\/strong> following IDSA<\/strong> a Gaia-X<\/strong> standards.
Initially, SPICE will act as a Resource Owner<\/strong>, later evolving into an autonomous Provider<\/strong>. The work includes researching Blockchain, smart contracts, ontologies<\/strong>, and developing a Connector<\/strong> aligned with the Eclipse Data Space Components<\/strong> project.
Together with T6.5, this will enable full integration with EU data spaces<\/strong>, supporting the European Data Strategy<\/strong> and ensuring the platform\u2019s long-term sustainability<\/strong> for both industry and research communities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
