This work package focuses on the <\/span>development and maturation of research prototypes (TRL4)<\/span> of <\/span>SPICE modules and user interfaces<\/span> from WP4\u2013WP7 towards <\/span>TRL6\/7<\/span>, following <\/span>industry best practices<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> The main objectives include:<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Enhancing performance, scalability, modularity, and maintainability<\/strong> of SPICE modules through rigorous integration, compatibility, and performance testing<\/strong> conducted in WP11.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Improving usability, accessibility, and user acceptance<\/strong> of user interfaces via user-centered and responsive design<\/strong>, supported by usability and satisfaction assessments<\/strong> in WP11.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Implementing security measures<\/strong> and ensuring regulatory compliance<\/strong> wherever applicable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Task 10.1 \u2013 Development of Intelligent Reasoning and Machine\/Deep Learning Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    This task advances lab prototypes of reasoning and AI\/ML services<\/strong> developed in T4.1, T4.2, and T5.2<\/strong> to TRL6\/7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The focus is on improving scalability, modularity, maintainability<\/strong>, and verifying regulatory compliance<\/strong>. Activities include rigorous integration, compatibility, and performance testing<\/strong>, performed closely with WP11<\/strong> to identify and address any performance bottlenecks.<\/p>\n

    The task ensures that reasoning and AI\/ML services are production-ready<\/strong>, optimized for real-world deployment<\/strong>, and meet industry standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    \n

    Task 10.2 \u2013 Development of User Interfaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    This task matures user interface prototypes<\/strong> of the User Dashboard (UD)<\/strong>, Perceptive Pipeline Composer (PPC)<\/strong>, and Visual Pipeline Editor (VPE)<\/strong> from T4.3 and T4.4<\/strong> towards TRL6\/7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Its goal is to improve the usability, functionality, and readiness<\/strong> of these interfaces for deployment. Activities, conducted with WP11<\/strong>, include:<\/p>\n

      Extending interface functionality to align with user needs and expectations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Applying user-centered<\/strong>, accessible<\/strong>, and responsive design<\/strong> principles across platforms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Task 10.3 \u2013 Development of Runtime Optimization System\/Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      This task progresses the High Throughput Enactment Engine (EE)<\/strong> a Cognitive Mapper (Mapper)<\/strong> prototypes to TRL6\/7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Working closely with WP11<\/strong>, the key activities include:<\/p>\n

        Extending and refining EE and Mapper based on beta-tester and use-case feedback<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Applying industry best practices<\/strong> a responsive design principles<\/strong> for multi-infrastructure<\/strong> (edge\u2013cloud\u2013HPC) compatibility.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Ensuring cross-platform functionality<\/strong> and performing compatibility testing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Gathering quantitative and qualitative metrics<\/strong> to measure performance and productivity improvements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n

        Task 10.4 \u2013 Development of Smart Data Management System\/Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        This task enhances WP6 prototypes<\/strong> and integrates them into the Onedata platform<\/strong> to reach TRL6\/7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        It advances a Smart Data Management System\/Service (DMS\/S)<\/strong> capable of seamlessly connecting diverse data sources<\/strong>. The focus is on AI-driven data discovery<\/strong>, real-world optimization<\/strong>, and robust scalability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Key objectives include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n

          Enhancing system performance and scalability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Improving AI-based data discovery<\/strong> capabilities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Conducting compatibility and integration testing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Ensuring performance optimization, security, and compliance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Establishing feedback loops for continuous improvement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The outcome will be an intelligent, secure, and scalable DMS\/S<\/strong>, ready for large-scale deployment at TRL6\/7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          Task 10.5 \u2013 Development of Resource Ensemble Management Services <\/strong><\/h3>\n

          This task finalizes Resource Ensemble Management (REM)<\/strong> prototypes from WP7<\/strong> to achieve TRL6\/7 maturity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          Key activities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Integrating REM with on-premise (OpenStack, vSphere)<\/strong> a public cloud providers (AWS, Azure)<\/strong>, as well as Kubernetes-based orchestrators<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Developing a GUI portal<\/strong> for monitoring resource statuses<\/strong>, workload reallocations<\/strong>, and dynamic provisioning<\/strong> events.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Finalizing the XaaS Marketplace<\/strong> using continuous integration and delivery (CI\/CD)<\/strong> best practices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Enhancing the auctioning system, GUI, collaborative environment<\/strong>, and intelligent agent configuration<\/strong>, supported by a monitoring environment<\/strong> for the Marketplace.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            These developments will ensure robust, flexible, and autonomous management<\/strong> of resources across the compute continuum<\/strong>, advancing the SPICE platform toward industrial-grade readiness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

            Work package 11 focuses on <\/span>ensuring the quality, integration, and operational readiness of the SPICE platform<\/strong>. The main objectives include:<\/span><\/h3>\n

              Providing trusted quality assurance<\/strong> for software in the dynamic, non-deterministic environment<\/strong> of cloud continuum data pipeline deployments (T11.1).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Integrating all SPICE platform components<\/strong> with applications and services from the Pilot Use Cases (T11.2).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Implementing a distributed, heterogeneous pilot testbed<\/strong> for the compute continuum (T11.3).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Validating Pilot Use Case requirements<\/strong> and providing feedback to both platform developers and use case owners (T11.4).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              \n

              Task 11.1 \u2013 Trusted Software Quality Assurance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

              This task automates the software delivery process<\/strong> and improves quality through Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC)<\/strong> procedures, extending guarantees to all software services, including FaaS and microservices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

              Key activities include:<\/p>\n

                Defining and implementing Software Quality Assurance (SQA), maintenance, and support processes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Enabling smooth and rapid release of new features<\/strong>, validated by user communities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Following a Continuous Integration\/Continuous Delivery (CI\/CD)<\/strong> approach to integrate user feedback quickly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Using automated deployment in the DevSecOps chain<\/strong> to ensure consistent, efficient, and secure releases.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Promoting collaboration and compliance<\/strong> via open-source configuration management practices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Task 11.2 \u2013 Integration and Testing of SPICE Platform<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                This task integrates SPICE platform components<\/strong> from WP4\u2013WP7 (matured in WP10) into a coherent instance<\/strong> to verify interoperability and alignment with the architectural design<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

                It also supports the integration of Pilot Use Case applications<\/strong> into the testbed (T11.3)<\/strong>, ensuring scenario fulfillment and enabling validation in T11.4<\/strong>. Additional activities include:<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • \n

                  Addressing performance, scalability, security, regulatory compliance, and platform coherence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Following internal SQA guidelines<\/strong> from T11.1 and an agile approach<\/strong> to provide continuous feedback.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Engaging beta-testers<\/strong> to evaluate functionality and KPIs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Producing a detailed integration report (D11.1)<\/strong> representing the full SPICE incubator prototype.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Task 11.3 \u2013 SPICE Pilot Deployment <\/strong><\/h3>\n

                  This task provisions a federated edge-cloud infrastructure<\/strong> to deploy and test the SPICE platform with Pilot Use Cases.<\/p>\n

                  Key activities include:<\/p>\n

                    Providing a private GitHub\/GitLab deployment<\/strong> for CI\/CD<\/strong> as defined in T11.1.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    Enforcing a centralized QA process<\/strong> using defined CI pipelines and dedicated runners.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    Granting partners access and support<\/strong> for deploying and testing their software components.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    Testing the integration of SPICE components<\/strong>, scalability<\/strong>, and compliance with security and privacy guidelines (T3.2)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    Documenting the final federated edge-cloud pilot infrastructure<\/strong> with all services and applications in D11.2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Task 11.4 \u2013 SPICE Platform Assessment in Pilot Use Cases<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                    This task focuses on verifying functional and non-functional requirements<\/strong> of the Pilot Use Cases using the integrated SPICE platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

                    Activities include:<\/p>\n
