Work package 14

Objective: Laser Cutting

Task 14.1 – Use Case Preparation
This task focuses on defining objectives and methodologies for the Use Case and aligning core research problems with SPICE platform capabilities. Key activities:

  • Define indicators to evaluate consumables’ wear and optimize process parameters.

  • Group data sets by processing point (edge/cloud).

  • Identify suitable communication channels for data transfer with the SPICE platform.

Task 14.2 – Use Case Adaptation
This task involves creating preliminary prototypes or proof-of-concept models internally, without using the SPICE platform testbed. Objectives include:

  • Research integration of SPICE platform end-user UI/dashboard into CyberFab Diagnostics applications.

  • Define requirements for an online customer support platform for this Use Case.

  • Explore security and anonymization methods suitable for implementation.

  • Validate selected approaches via local simulations of the SPICE platform.

Task 14.3 – Use Case Prototyping
This task executes the research approaches validated in earlier tasks. Prototypes will use partial SPICE platform features and focus on domain-specific objectives:

  • Integrate SPICE platform UI/dashboard into MicroStep’s CyberFab Diagnostics application.

  • Develop multiple prototypes targeting small sets of indicators from Task 9.1.

  • Supply real-time cutting process data to the SPICE platform.
