Work packages
The S.P.I.C.E. work plan comprises 18 packages
Work package 0 (WP0) will procure R&D infrastructure. WP leader: Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Work packages 1 & 2 (WP1, WP2) will perform project management. WP leader: InterWay. Work package 3 (WP3) will elicit the needs and requirements of the pilots, translate them into technical requirements and design the SPICE system architecture. Work package 4 (WP4) will develop intelligent and knowledge-based functions of the SPICE system. WP leader: Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Work package 5 (WP5) will focus on optimized scheduling of complex data pipelines in a secure and resilient decentralized runtime. WP leader: University of Innsbruck. Contributing partners: Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, AGH University of Krakow, Gradiant.
Work package 6 (WP6) will provide a smart decentralised data management layer optimizing the placement and transfers of complex data. WP leader: AGH University of Krakow. Contributing partners: University of Innsbruck, Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Gradiant.
Work package 7 (WP7) will develop an innovative resource provisioning system based on GitOps and ConfigurationAsData, using declarative data models of resources and cloud-native APIs adapted to the needs of extreme data processing across the edge-cloud continuum. Work package 8 (WP8) will perform testbed integration to serve as laboratory. WP leader: Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Contributing partners: InterWay, a.s.
Work package 9 (WP9) will research practical impacts of compute continuum aspects on SW quality assurance. WP leader: InterWay, a.s. Contributing partners: Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Work packages 10 & 11 (WP10, WP11) will integrate SPICE components and SPICE UCs’ artifacts, coming from WP14-WP18, into incubator for final validation and further exploitation. Work packages 12 & 13 (WP12, WP13) will ensure collaboration with relevant H2020 and Horizon Europe projects, initiatives, and standardization bodies; dissemination of the project results to the target communities, ecosystems, and stakeholders, and planning of exploitation and sustainability of the SPICE platform.
